Our Interactive Shows and Workshops are all based around our expeditions and the theme of adventure.

They involve curriculum materials but are great for science festivals and family events.

ADVENTURE SCIENCE

SYNOPSIS

An interactive adventure show that explores the science and technology behind the Anturus Expeditions. In this hour-long show, we take a look at the most important idea you need in order to survive an adventure in the outdoors. We will also look at the sustainability advantages of eating bugs and the nutritional values needed for survival, and how to make sure you are prepared for adventure! Field scientists are some of the best adventurers, and after this engaging science show perhaps you will want to be a science adventurer too!

EARTH ADVENTURES

SYNOPSIS

Our planet is pretty special. From huge moving glaciers to active volcanoes, wide oceans to the longest mountain ranges. Being part of this planet means it’s up to us to look after it. Join adventurer Huw James as he takes you on a tour of some of the most amazing locations on our planet, and shows how he and his team create media in the field to take viewers on a journey to some of the most extreme environments on Earth. With interactive demonstrations and HD footage from the field, maybe you’ll be inspired to have an Earth adventure.

The solar system and the planets beyond are all worth visiting. But the distances between all the planets are so vast, how do we ever hope to go there? The fact is we’re exploring the outer edges of our solar system with robotic explorers and plans to send humans to other planets are already in the works. So if we’re going to explore other planets, moons and chunks of rock, which are the best to go to? In this hour long interactive show, join adventure astronomer Huw James as we find out where we’ll be having Space Adventures in the not so distant future.

Having spent part of 2016 around the world’s most endangered creatures, hear all about why Huw thinks that these habitats can be brought back from the brink. SYNOPSIS

Scientists often set up observation areas to study plants, animals and nature in the field. In this workshop, you’ll get to build your very own weather station and bug hotel in one! It’s important to know what creatures live in the world and in your garden, the bug hotel will keep you informed. The weather station means you can track the weather and keep a weather diary. Together, these will give you a lot of information for you to compare with your fellow Adventure Scientists!
